Proposed Federal Organic Rules

The proposed rules for the National Organic Program were signed today by
both the Office of Management and Budget and the USDA administration. They
have been delivered to the Government Printing Office for publication in
the Federal Register on December 16th. I am told that on the same day they
are published,they will be uploaded onto the USDA Website at the following
address: http://www.ams.usda.gov/tmd/organic.htm.
The USDA has scheduled a press conference to announce the rules, on
December 15th.
