In the southern most of India, in the Kerala state, which lies in the
perhumid tropical region- 0.5 (half an acre) to 0.75 Acre is sufficient
to feed a family of five . That too without any external inputs - as far
as you maintain cattle and do intensive cultivation, relying totally on
biological dynamics. In such systems over all biomass productivity
can go well above 35-40 Tonnes per acre per year. (With 4-5 tier
cropping -commonly known as the homestead farming).
