Knives and Forks community, which is a group of
farmers and vendors dedicated to producing food products naturally,
organically and without
preservatives for the Toronto community. They sell their products every
Saturday 8 am to 2
pm in Mirvish Village (Markham Street at Bloor). They will be having
their 5th annual
Spring Symposium on March 26 at Ryerson University, 240 Jarvis Street.
It starts at 10:30
a.m. and ends with an Organic Dinner at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 in

Don't have a clue what could be seen up there in the winter months.
Perhaps there is a degree of resurgence in the popularity of Farmer's
Markets. I'm not really qualified to comment, but if there is a
measurable increase in popularity or sheer number of new markets or new
customers I would guess that is partly attributable (sp) to the rise of
organic production. Having said that I would also submit that many
established markets have experienced declines as less meals are prepared
in the home and frozen, pre-cut, and imported produce has gained
marketshare steadily.
Soulard Market here in lovely Saint Louis has seen a steady decline in
traffic for the last twenty years. The Farmer's Market is most likely
one of the oldest phenomenon in human culture!
