Subject: agricultural education

Hello Everyone,
Alfred State College (Alfred, New York) is a 2-year technical college that offe
rs associate degree programs in various disciplines. Our college of agriculture
and forestry is currently discussing the future of ag. education in terms of ev
aluating and re-aligning our programs to keep them relevant in the 21st century.
As of now, we have curricula in ag. science, ag. business, animal science,
plant and soil science, landscaping, horticulture, floriculture (production or
merchandizing)
merchandizing) and ag. biotechnology.
I am very interested in reading your comments to see what you consider to be
the future of agriculture and ag. education, and what specialties you may see
becoming more important and which ones you consider to be on the decline or
become obsolete. Thank you in advance for your comments. Steven Jakobi.
