In case anyone is interested, there are a number of companies that have
reportedly agreed not to use milk from BST-treated cows in their products,
in accordance with the Pure Food Campaign run by Jeremy Rifkin/Foundation
on Economic Trends.
These include:
Bristol-Myers Squibb's Mead Johnson Nutritional Group, Abbot's Ross
Laboratories, Gerber's Wyeth-Ayerst Labs (so many monopolies!), Farmland
Dairies, Alta-Dena Dairies, Swiss Valley Farms (Davenport, IA), Colombo,
Stonyfield Farm (NH), Clover-Stornetta, Tillamook, McCadam Cheese, Ben &
Jerry's.
In addition, Anderson-Erickson Dairy Co. (Des Moines) is undecided. They
say they will need to review data released by the FDA with the approval,
and will consider dairy suppliers views, in addition to looking out for
the best interests of its customers.
This is a list I found several months ago in one of the many Biotech
serials I scan for one of our center's ongoing projects. For more info on
