OFFICE MEMO BST Approved by FDA Date:11/5/93
Ken Smith has just told me that the AP is reporting the BST has been approved
today by the FDA. The FDA has declined to require any special labelling on
milk or meat from treated cattle.
BST will be available for free distribution, but will not be available for sale
for 90 days from approval as a result of a moratorium sponsored by Sen. Russell
Feingold earlier this fall.
