Friends of The Game--

Noted rural sociologist (and colleague) Fred Buttel passed along to me
an important clipping from this week's Chronicle regarding the sixth
Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture in June.
It is organized by SUNY-Oneonta and explores the impact of baseball
on American culture from a multidisciplinary perspective. Proposals
for papers are invited from all disciplines, abstracts due 12/15.

I believe there are possibilities for study from a sustainable
agriculture/ rural sociology/ etc. vantage and would like to
communicate w/ anyone else who is considering a proposal.
