Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We here at the Center for Citizen Initiatives (formerly the
Center for US-USSR Initiatives, San Francisco non-profit
active in the former Soviet Union) are working together with
the All-Russian Agricultural College outside of Moscow to
develop intensive courses for this coming spring in sustainable
agriculture techniques. We hope to establish this as a "foot in
the door" for sustainable agriculture in Russia; the College we
are working with is the center for farmer's education and
curriculum development for over 300 other higher-education ag
schools all over Russia.
Anyone familiar with the subject will tell you that Russian
agriculture is undergoing a wrenching transformation as
collectivized farms are broken up and rights are granted for
private land ownership. This presents a unique opportunity to
catalyze changes in agricultural practices.
We are currently looking for qualified instructors in sustainable
agriculture who would be willing to spend three to four weeks in
Russia in Jan./Feb. of 1994 teaching intensive courses to eager
Russian farmers. We will cover all necessary expenses.
If you are interested, please submit a letter of interest and your
current c.v. to us at 3268 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, CA,
94115, or by e-mail to cciusa@sovusa.com. We will stop
accepting new applications on November 10, so please contact us
before that.
If you would like more information, just drop us a note on e-mail.
We hope to hear from you!
Will Easton
