A CONFERENCE ON CUISINE, AGRICULTURE, ANS SOCIAL CHANGE

June 9-12, 1994
Westward Look Resort
Tucson, Arizona

including annual meetings of the Agriculture, Food and Human Values
Society and the Association for the Study of Food and Society

PAPERS, POSTERS AND PANELS ARE WELCOME on any topic relating to
questions of culture, ethics, and values in food production, use, and
policy, including cultural diversity in food habits, enhancing
sustainability of agricultural and food systems, current or historical
cultural meanings of agriculture and food, technological and
environmental issues in food production, strategies and tactics for
food equity, and social and ethical issues in food and nutrition.
Papers are welcome from non-members of the two societies as well as
members.

WE ARE MAKING A SPECIAL APPEAL FOR PANELS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Cross-cultural perspectives on cuisine and agriculture
Developing the capacity of local foodsheds
Building coalitions among sustainable agriculture and anti-hunger
groups
Integrating natural scientists into the discussion of food and
agricultural issues
Grassroots strategies for food system change
Influencing (or capitalizing on) NRI and SARE program directions
