Position announcement:

SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE/BOTANY. Full-time, continuing faculty
position beginning August 1, 1994. We are a small innovative
residential liberal arts college on a beautiful 1,100-acre campus
(300-acre farm, 600-acre forest) in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We
promote an education combining academic study, required work and
community service, as a vehicle for human liberation and
transformation. We seek individuals with effective college
teaching experience, interest in collaborative teaching, a
generalist orientation, and commitment to teaching college-wide
general education courses. For this position we particularly
desire an individual with the training and experience in
sustainable agriculture to address our students' interests in
promoting sustainable living on the planet. This position will
provide an exciting opportunity to participate with an
environmentally aware and sensitive campus community in
Environmental Studies programs. Teach Plant Taxonomy, Plant
Morphology, Introduction to Environmental Studies, General Biology,
and other courses depending on expertise and interest. Supervise
student research.

Qualifications: PhD in Botany, Plant Science or relevant field,
experience in sustainable agriculture or a related area.
