POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Program Director, Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management
Collaborative Research Support Program (SANREM CRSP), Funded by USAID and
Implemented by a Consortium Led by the University of Georgia
RANK: This is a 12-month, tenure track position at the University of
Georgia with full-time responsibilities for the intellectual leadership,
management, and coordination of the SANREM CRSP. Rank will be
commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and
will be determined by the academic unit in which he or she is to be
tenured.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements include a Ph.D. in one of the agricultural,
ecological, or social sciences relating to natural resource management
with a strong background in international work, including at least 10
years work experience in research and/or development with administrative
experience and strong management skills. A strong background in systems
research and interdisciplinary team research is desirable. Fluency in
Spanish and/or French is desirable.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities of this position
include: intellectual leadership for the global program; fostering and
guiding interdisciplinary team research; programmatic goal setting and
planning; responding to and implementing USAID, UGA, and SANREM CRSP BOD
policies, procedures, and guidelines; developing Memoranda of
Understanding, Cooperative Agreements, and Subgrants; conference and
workshop organization and participation; establishing and/or maintaining
collaborative networks; oversight of fiscal management; oversight of
internal monitoring and evaluation and planning and coordination of
external evaluations; fund leveraging; represent the CRSP to USAID and
other constituencies; and staff supervision.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
