Community Food projects RFP available

USDA has released the 1997 Request for Proposals for the Community Food
Projects Program ( Community Food Security Act). This program funds
non-profit organizations for projects that meet the food needs of low income
people; increase the self-reliance of communities in providing for their own
food needs; and promote comprehensive responses to local food, farm, and
nutrition issues. $2.5 million is available this year.

202-401-5048. The deadline will be 6/6/97.

The CFS Coalition will have available shortly a guidance document to help
organizations interpret and develop a grant proposal under this funding
