*Children's Environmental Health: Research, Practice,
Prevention, Policy: February 21-23, 1997.* Children's
Environmental Health Network. Conference will focus on
pediatric environmental health and will focus on raising

*Food Security and the Right to Feed Oneself: Five Demands on
the FAO, 1996.* Foodfirst Information and Action Network
(FIAN). Argues that governments and multilateral institutions
must prioritize improving social and economic conditions to
create food security, emphasizing distribution of food and
access to productive resources. Makes five demands on FAO,
including that the organization make a commitment to
implementing the Right to Food; develop a code of conduct
defining states' obligations regarding the Right to Food;
promote land and economic reforms to provide people with
access to productive resources; create a documentation system
for violations of the Right to Food; and sponsor a
multilateral legally-binding agreement to promote global food
