Subject: Urban Gardening cont.
I appreciate George Gundrey's recent posting about the potential of urban
agriculture to feed growing city populations. This is an interesting topic
that needs further investigation. I am embarking on a research project to
examine the resource and environmental costs and benefits of urban agriculture,
in addition to the food produced, jobs created, and other implications. I am
planning to use Hartford, CT as a case study.
I am asking the list's suggestions regarding the good and bad effects of urban
agriculture, as well as any information about studies performed in North
America. I'm not looking for information about individual city food and garden
projects -- I have quite a bit on that.
