At the 1994 ASA (American Society of Agronomy) meetings in Seattle, I
happened to listen to a paper presentation entitled "Risk of Gene Flow
Between Transgenic Canola and Related Weed Species." The author is Carol
Mollory-Smith who had conducted the work with University of Idaho and has
since moved to Oregon State University. I believe she is with the Dept of
Crop Science, general telephone number is 503-737-2441.

The gist of the paper was that the gene(s) for herbicide resistance had
been transferred from canola to closely related weed species. Apparantly
gene transfer occurred through cross pollination.

Don't know if this is the type of unformation you are looking for, but it
is all I happen to know about the issue.
