What is Agriculture?

A document I saw recently indicated that 50% of the workers in agriculture work
at the retail level, which seems to indicate that agriculture is more than
farming and growing food.

Does anyone a good definition, generally agreed upon, for agriculture? Where is
the boundary between agriculture and the rest of society?
