It's springtime in the Rockies and workshop time in the North Central
Region. The North Central Sustainable Agriculture Training Program will
be hosting two workshops with the theme, Shared Leadership, Shared
Responsibility. They will be held in Wisconsin, June 24-26, and North
Dakota, July 24-26. We are assembling the resource notebook and looking
for information on whole farm planning and associated tools, Holistic
Resource Manangement, leadership models and team building, marketing
schemes, and economic studies of sustainable agriculture systems.
Workshop Audience--Extension 65%, producers 17%, nonprofit organizations
9%, and federal and state agencies 9% (based on last year's attendance)
Information--easily transferable, public domain, articles, booklets,
overheads, handouts, manuals, directories, electronic addresses, people,
organizations. What have you used that has really been helpful? Can an
educator take this information and use it next week in his or her
workshop?
Sources--Extension, other regions, nonprofit organizations, individuals,
state and federal agencies, private businesses
Last year we received excellent ideas from SANET-MG and SAED-SHARE
readers. The resource notebook was condensed into Volume 4: Everyone a
Teacher, Everyone a Learner. To date, we have distributed 630 copies to
50 states and 7 foreign countries. We look forward to receiving your
suggestions. Thank you.
