Who We are:
Wilderness Flowers is an family owned and operated NMOCC certified organic
farm located on Grass Mountain near the edge of the Pecos Wilderness in
northern New Mexico. This location has been used by the family since
Grandpa Geronimo first homesteaded the aspen, and spruce tree covered
mountainside in the early 1900ís.
We produce speciality potatoes, mixed vegetable and cut flowers as well as
greenhouse production of flower and vegetable plugs. The farm is on an
aspen covered hillside at 9000 ft, completely surrounded by a million acre
national forest on the edge of the Pecos Wilderness. The living conditions
are a bit primitive and while the farm is isolated its only a hour from
Santa Fe.
We hire two apprentices each season and have one position remaining for the
1996 season. We are seeking confident, self motivted individual to help
with all the farms chores:including cultivation, harvesting and selling
through three farmers markets,local restaurnts and 4 large natural food
stores.
Room and board a small monthly stipend,as well as a personal riding
horse.Our growing season is May1- Oct 1 Our interns are encourged to learn
