Inter-American Shipping

The question of shipping perishables from South America is really the most
telling analysis. The internal US shipping won't reveal the problem so
dramtically. I'm involved in organic coffee production in Peru which is
probably justified by no equivalent in the US but I'm afraid we're doing
damage with shipment of perishables. A question arises as to the wisdom of
shipping coffee from South America when sufficient coffee production could be
generated in Mexico. This analysis is very close to the one suggested by
Steve Hall. I want to come up with a procedure to resolve the issue. Note
that this would lend itself well to a generalized simulation to address multi-
variable cases (maybe the simulation already exists?)
