Hello!
The Multinational Exchange for Sustainable Agriculture (MESA), a non
profit, is sponsoring young agriculturists from Russia, Lithuania and
Honduras who are due to arrive in the U.S. in the coming months. All of our
applicants have agricultural skills and want to improve their knowledge in
sustainable practices, which will help promote sustainable farming around
the world.
We are now interviewing sustainable/organic growers and CSAs who may want
to host an international farmer seeking to to live and work on your farm
for one full year.
We are concentrating our efforts to find qualified hosts in the Western
region of the U.S., but we'll welcome inquiries from anywhere in the U.S.
Host farms provide room, board and a $675/month program fee. The program
fee enables MESA to provide its international farmers with $300/month
stipends, health insurance, educational seminars, legal documentation,
domestic travel and administrative support. Considering that host farms
have no payroll taxes or legal documentation concerns--and a very reliable
and enthusiastic individual working on the farm--it's a very affordable and
compelling alternative to hiring another employee.
If you or anyone you may know would like to find out more about hosting an
international farmer through our program, please contact:
