HUNGER IN MICHIGAN CONFERENCE -- STRENGTHENING SKILLS,
FINDING SOLUTIONS
The Food Bank Council of Michigan is sponsoring its 2nd
annual conference on issues of and solutions to hunger
March 19-20 at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing.
This year's theme is enhancing the capacity of people to
impact hunger -- with better knowledge, skills, and resources.
The conference is an opportunity to better understand some of
the bigger issues about hunger, such as public and food policies
that affect us all. The conference will provide a well-rounded
variety of practical, motivating workshops and sessions.
Executive Director Jane Marshall believes the session will
appeal to anyone interested in food issues.
Highlights will include:
Keynote address by Lansing Mayor David Hollister
General Session: "Making Your Voice Heard"
Agriculture Session: "Is There Enough Food for Everyone?"
Workshops: "Meet your Legislator at the Capitol",
"Leadership and Volunteer Training"," Technology
Innovations", Fund Raising".
Registration costs $75 before March 1. Some scholarships are
available. For more information, call (517) 485-1202.
