Yes, it's a very good point about tradition and pride clouding the =
descision making process. I know a dairy farmer who converted to =
MIG and increased his profits and decreased workload, improved he =
and his families quality of life. But, was still disappointed =
that his herd average declined.

We need to remeber that change takes time. There are few of us =
younger people in agriculture that remember the chemical =
revolution. My grandfather tells me stories of farmers he =
remembers who resisted the use of chemical fertilizers and =
pesticides. It has taken us a couple of generations to get where =
we are today. Why should we expect to change things in a =
dramatically shorter time frame?
