You are of course correct in proposing that the so-called 'falling out' of
social, cultural and physical is just a failure to see systems and multiple
scales. I agree! I have had many farmers (farming organically and/or
sustainably as per Jim's suggestion) lecture me on this point many, many
times, and 'whole systems thinking' constantly escapes me.
So my complaint was pragmatic, and not philosophical, after all. So we are
back to Anne's point. . . .
