CHOICES IN THE HEALING ARTS
September 19 - 21, 1996
Omaha Nebraska
CALL FOR PRESENTERS
Choices in the Healing Arts is a multidisciplinary conference
which will bring together individuals involved with health care--
both those within the mainstream of western medicine and those
interested in the alternative healing arts. The intent of the
conference is to explore the relationship between western
medicine and the growing range of alternative therapies available
in the United States.
Presentations will examine the spectrum of practices and beliefs
in the healing arts. Possible topics include, but need not be
limited to: research on the scope and effect of alternative
health care models; clinical review and diagnostics; integrating
alternative health care practices into traditional models; health
systems and therapy (insurance, ethics, legal considerations,
managed care); use of alternative therapies on acute and chronic
health conditions; use of ritual in healing models; cross-
cultural healing traditions; scope of practice and the role of
practitioners.
We invite research from professionals and academics in the fields
such as medicine, nursing, physical therapy, counseling, and
psychotherapy. The conference welcomes presentations by
practitioners in the fields of allied health, managed care,
massage therapy, acupuncture, homeopathy, chiropractic,
naturopathy, and healing arts such as music therapy, arts, and
dance.
