Maria Van Hekken sent me a copy of your request. I am in Washington
state. We have a Kellogg sponsored project which is training over 150
people in Holistic Management. Approximately 50% are producers, 21%
are tribal, 18% are various federal and state agency personnel, 12%
are extension agents, and 4% represent the environmental community.
We are one year into the project and are already noticing very
exciting results and momentum state-wide.

The first place to look for information about Holistic Management is
in Allan Savory's textbook, Holistic Resource Management. He is heavy
on grazing and animal impact, for a purpose (2/3rd's of the earth's
land surface is desertifying). However, we are using the HM model in
community development, tribal government management, organizational
change, all kinds of agriculture and natural resource management, etc.
Holistic Management is basically a decision making model that
encourages the user to think holistically rather than linearly. The
Center for Holistic Resource Management has an e-mail address:
chrm@igc.apc.org

You are welcome to contact us for more information at Washington State
University. Thanks for the interest.
