Examines health effects of pesticide use in U.S. agriculture,
particularly for farmers and applicators, and interviews
range of people involved in pesticide issues, including

policy needs in nutrient, pest and land resources management,
as well as role of extension. Pest management section

Development. Examines why widespread poverty and chronic

program content of multilateral development banks (MDBs),
focusing on World Bank, but discussing African, Asian and
Inter-American Development Banks as well. Describes effects
of MDB policies on women and opportunities for women and non
governmental organizations (NGOs) to monitor and influence
