Lugar/pesticides

On a recent National Public Radio broadcast, there was a report
on the Republican candidate Richard Lugar. In the context of
agriculture and pesticide use, he is apparently interested in
banning some chemicals. His advisor, a Mr. Jinear or Dinear,
from Indiana, is a political conservative who promotes the ban
of several agrichemicals.

Did anyone else hear this report?

Is anyone familiar with this subject? It is very interesting that
a republican candidate is taking this stance. Any additional
information, clarification or discussion would be appreciated!
