Job Title: Researcher in Geographic Information Systems applied to land use,
transportation, environmental, agricultural, natural resource and/or
ecosystem studies
Responsibilities: The person filling this position must be well versed
with the technical design, operation and applications of GIS systems.
He/she should be able to advise other researchers from various
technical fields in such applications. This position is
envisioned as a complement and enhancement to the existing staff
interested in interdisciplinary GIS research.
Qualifications: A postgraduate degree in any area emphasizing quantitative
spatial information systems in an environmental, natural resource or
ecosystem context. At least two years experience in GIS applications
development is necessary. Strong computer background; Experience in
database adminstration, and experience with ARC/INFO, and GRASS GIS
and with UNIX workstations are preferred. Interest in interdisciplinary
research is essential.
Salary and Benefits commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
Duration of contract: 1 year minimum, with the possibility of extension.
