Cheryl,

The hard-working Bill Blake (ceplacer@ucdavis.edu) is senior author on the
new, comprehensive, producer-oriented CSA manual called Community Supported
Agriculture: Making the Connection, just published by our UCCE, Placer
County, and the Small Farm Center at UC Davis. The manual is set in a
three-ring binder to make the use of the many charts and forms easier for the
producer. Unlike most publications, this one is designed to be easily taken
apart by the farmer and actually used in the field and in the planning
process.

Bill has been a worker on a CSA farm, is a current member of a CSA, is
working on Community Gardens and Urban Agriculture and is coordinating our
local Placer County Farm Conference set for January. I'm sure he would be
pleased to talk to you about CSA and give you the skinny on purchasing a copy
of this excellent manual.

Also, contact CSA West at farmcsa@aol.com. Jered Lawson heads that program
at UC Santa Cruz. The program is a co-operative venture between the Center
for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems program at UCSC and the
California Alliance with Family Farmers, CAFF. Jered just pulled off a very
successful conference on CSA's held in November in San Francisco and can tell
you how to get ahold of any proceedings available from that as well as his
experiences with the UCSC CSA.

Hope this helps,
Marcie
