I'm a graduate student in agricultural economics at Berkeley who is
interested in doing research on Community Supported Agriculture. I'm
interested in the consumer aspects, who belongs to a CSA, why, how
important is it that the produce be organic, local, etc. And I'm also
interested in producer issues such as why a producer would start a CSA,
where these producers are located in relation to urban areas, does a CSA
reduce the risk a grower faces (or increase it), do CSAs increase a
growers income, etc. And how might CSAs help preserve farmland in urban
areas.
I'm wondering if anyone has seen work or has done work on any of these
issues. Any leads would really be appreciated. You can email me directly
at the address below.
Thanks!!
Cheryl
