The difference is farmers are trying to support their families not =
make profits for stockholders. Farmers don't sit around the =
kitchen table conspiring how to break environmental laws to =
increase profits. They are worrying about how to generate enough =
money to support their way of life. Most farmers are willing to =
accept sustainable practices as long as they maintain =
profitability. I have never met a farmer who has calculated when =
he is going to retire and plans to use up the last fractions of =
top soil his last year farming. Remeber, most farmers intend on =
passing the farm on to their children.
