Dear Steve,
I would suggest getting Mr. Roseberry to serve on the Center Advisory
Board and get him an Internet account thru the 800 number that
extension agents use so he can participate in this type of discussion.
In my interactions with Mr. Roseberry he seemed to be a forceful,
intelligent farmer committed to preserving the environment while
maintaining the profitability of his farming operation. Just the
kind of person whose participation is needed in developing
sustainable agricultural systems. If people like Mr. Roseberry are
suspicious of SA then there are some problems of communication, policy,
purpose, or whatever that need to be addressed. These people are, as
you made clear in your post, natural participants in developing
sustainable agriculture.
