PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR
PAPERS
SECOND NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON THE USE OF
CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS FOR ANIMAL WASTE
MANAGEMENT.
Fort Worth, Texas 15-18 May 1996
The use of constructed wetlands for the remediation of
livestock, dairy, and aquaculture wastewater continues to
increase. This workshop will bring together researchers
from around the country to discuss current issues, ongoing
research, and regulatory aspects of constructed wetlands.
The workshop will consist of three parts: a one-day training
session on the use and implementation of constructed
wetlands led by a team of invited experts from around the
country (Wednesday); a one-day field tour of current water
quality issues and constructed wetlands in the
Stephenville/Erath County area (Thursday); and a two-day
contributed paper session (Friday-Saturday).
Workshop Proceedings similar to those from the first
workshop (DuBowy and Reaves, eds. 1994) again will be
published. Speakers will need to have a completed paper
(on diskette, MS Word or WordPerfect) ready for
publication at the time of the workshop. We anticipate that
with everyone*s cooperation the proceedings will be
published within three months post-workshop.
