RECYCLE-How to do?

Dear netters:
in our small town, Itobi, Brasil, we started to separate
garbits to recycle it in papers, plastic, metal and glass.
To sell paper, plastic and cans we have to "bale" it.
This makes transport cheaper and easier.
Does anyone know how to construct a simple "handpowered"
baler? Do you know any organisation or person specialized in small
recycling projects?
