Marcie R. I had a student complete an M.Sc. a couple of years ago
comparing anaerobically "stockpiled" vs. aerobically "composted"
manures collected from about 25 beef or dairy farmers (half organic
and half conventional). As part of the questionnaire he circulated
to the cooperating producers, he asked about medications. Then, to
interpret effects on mineralization, measured indirectly through
growth and N content of a subsequent orchardgrass crop, he reviewed
the literature on drugs in manure.
